Research has demonstrated that a variety of music therapy relaxation and stress management approaches are effective for people requiring rehabilitation. In addition, these approaches are also effective for healthcare professionals and caregivers. Benefits include decreased heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, anxiety, agitation and depression, along with general stress reduction, improved coping skills and better psychosocial adjustment.  Overall, music has a positive effect on the wellbeing of both children and adults.  

 

 

 

Music for Relaxation & Therapy uses music and all of its facets—physical, emotional, mental, social, aesthetic, and spiritual - to help clients improve their physical and mental health.  

 

 

 

This may involve using music experiences such as free improvisation, singing, and listening to, guided relaxation/meditation to music, discussing, and moving to music to achieve treatment goals.
